May 15, 2009 Friday of the Fifth Week of Easter Greetings GenChrist, Generation Christ Communications Coordinator __________ May 16: Diaconal Ordinations, East Lansing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ News Diaconal Ordinations Saturday, May 16, 10:30 a.m., St. Thomas Acquinas Church, East Lansing. This Saturday, our Diocese of Lansing clergy will expand with the ordination of Permanent and Transitional Deacons. All are invited to attend this joyous celebration for our local Church. Men of GenChrist are invited to join some of Fr. McGivney in making a road trip up to the ordinations. The plan is to meet in the St. Thomas parking lot at 8:15 a.m., pray Morning Prayer PROMPTLY at 8:20 a.m., and head out shortly thereafter. It is anticipated that we'll return by 3:00 p.m. or earlier. Please email Andy (aforbing at alumni dot nmu dot edu) if you'll be coming along. We also know that some ladies of GenChrist are planning to make the trip. If you can drive others or if you are seeking a ride, please email me (paulcschultz at gmail dot com) this afternoon and I will put all interested ladies in contact with each other at 5 p.m. Dominican Sisters' Vocation Retreat - “Prayer and Vocational Discernment” The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist invite young women to a 24-hour retreat at their Ann Arbor convent next weekend. The retreat will feature all-night Eucharistic Adoration and there will be opportunities for one-on-one spiritual direction. The retreat will run from 2:00 p.m. on Saturday the 23rd to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday the 24th. Please contact Sister Joseph Andrew at sjab at sistersofmary dot org or call at (734) 994-7437. Chas would like everyone to know that the awesome Celtic rock band Scythian - which had some of its roots at the Franciscan University of Steubenville - will be playing The Ark on Monday, July 27th, at 8:00 p.m. We may plan a GenChrist trip to that show.
